Despite of the glamorous world he lives in, GLENN FREDLY, a famous musician
from Ambon, prefers to hang out at the street vendors area located in front of
Blok M Square.
“I seldom spend my time outside home. Yet there is one hang out place that
I usually visit, which is lesehan (eateries that offer low tables to sit at) in
front of Blok M Square, South Jakarta,” he explained.
The ‘lesehan’ usually started to open at 10 after the Blok M Square shop is
closed. The menu offered is very various
from cakalang fish, pepaya leaf, chopped fish meat and anchovies or other
Indonesian food. Glenn said that he liked to come with his celebs friend, Rio
Febrian.
Glen said that he prefered to choose ‘lesehan’ rathen than mall to hang out
with friends. Lesehen in his eyes
represents the ambiance of Jakarta in the past.
“Eventhough the owner has already passed away and now the child takes over
the place, I still like to hang out there to chit chat with friends or drink
coffee,” said Glen.
